Hacking Acekard 2i 3DS update

ok, ich habe vor 2 Tagen das Update mit einem DSi gemacht.(ak2ifw_update_3ds_v1_DSi.nds)

Nun möchte ich wissen, ob ich das aktuelle Update von acekard auch auf dem 3DS machen kann?

Habe keine DSi, den müsste ich mir wieder leihen.

da sollte nichts gegen sprechen, die karte wird ja schliesslich vom 3ds erkannt jetzt.
es gibt allerdings kein neues update, das "neue" update erkennt nur den kartentyp automatisch und lässt
leute mit hwid 44 karten gar nicht erst updaten, die karten sind nämlich unbrauchbar geworden nach dem update.
wenn bei dir alles läuft brauchst du das "neue" update nicht.

There is a new update (27/03/2011) on the Acecard website.

However When I try to update my card with it I get "This catridge can't be updated"

Chip ID :0fc2 HW:4444

Anyone else getting the same problem

I have read the thread, but the update is new since they pulled the last one for having bugs.
There are not indications that this fix should not work.

This is the update that is live on their website now.

The original file updated the card, but wouldn't work on the 3ds, this file wont even update the card.

My uncle says Nintendo DOES have the authority to brick DS's but I don't believe it. I want to be safe though.

the update they come up with first "bricked" (can be resolved when using a ds phat or ds lite) the acekards with HWID44, so they put out the "new" update which prevents those cards from updating (nothing else has changed) displaying the very same error you got. you cant update your HWID44 card yet. the update that was and now is on their site works fine for HWID81 cards.

all this is written in this very same thread.
they are even stating on their websites that the "very first acekards" cant be updated (thats the HWID44 revisions).


long story short: your card is HWID44, cant be updatet yet, be patient.

This is confusing. Are people talking about Bricking the Nintendo 3DS or bricking the Acekard 2i?

I don't think Nintendo would brick 3DSs even if they could. They would get tons of people trying to send them in for repair, clogging up their customer services. Or people will just not have a 3DS and then no access to purchased games and no reason to purchase more games or buy things from the 3DS store when it goes online, reducing the potential money flow for them.

It would be in their best interest to disable the flash carts somehow and keep the 3DS operational.

I installed the patch without problems with my DSi, it says HW:8181. It boots fine with Akaio 1.8.6 and it shows the new icon on the menu with the japanese characters. But when I try it on my 3DS it just doesn't show anything on the menu.

My 3DS is brand new and it have the firmware 1.1.0-1e.

No they don't, they can limit features if you don't update is all.
As someone said a few days ago, a company is not the law. They can't punish the guilty, only refuse service to those it deems unworthy.

i was having problems updating my acekard2i HW81 on a EUR DSi, when it said press start to continue nothing happened....

so i reformatted my micro sd and only put on the AKAIO files and the dsi update and it WORKS!!!!!!


if you're having problems i suggest doing the same

edit: forgot to say im using the latest 3DS update and AKAIO 1.8.6a

Problem is what you need to flash is the cart itself, not the microsd
