Hacking Acekard 2i 3DS update

i think my ak2i is broke..updated and now when i put in my old ds and 3ds the carts comes up but with no text and is blank(on 3ds theres no floating cart on the top)

Try reseating the card into the slot and/or the paper trick. Could be a contact issue

no like when i put it in the ds lite its come up like the a games in there but the description and name are completely blank...tried everything

Ew... Ya it might be bricked. Best I can recommend is trying to "revive" it with the DSL.nds updater using another flash cart and DSL.

Once your AceKard can run on your 3DS, you can update it before updating your 3DS firmware

I tried updating my card with the initial update on my Euro DSi and was told it was incompatible (HW: 4444)
I waited till the HW: 44 update was released and oh boy, this time it says it'll work!

However, I think my card just got bricked. It said the update was successful and to reboot, but on doing so, the DSi (or 3DS) no longer sees the card in the slot.
If I wait a while, a blank DS card icon will show up, but launching it brings up a DSi warning that an error occurred and to restart the system.

I once saw the card show up with an A2i logo but I can't seem to reproduce it.

Oh well. Guess its time to shop for a new card.

Actually yeah, why the hell would it work? I don't know why I even thought of it.

What good is using another Acekard? The problem is the card itself, not the SD card

Ran the fw update on the DSL (yes I used the correct one), popped cart out, popped back in, hit B, went off without a hitch. Rebooted the DSL, shows up as that Japanese game just as expected, still runs fine in my DSL. When I inserted into the 3DS, nothing. It says nothing is inserted in the slot. Go delete _aio and akmenu4.nds and reinstall, still doesn't work on 3DS...I wasn't really planning on touching the 3DS until someone hacked it, but it's still a little disappointing. At least my card isn't bricked.

Upon further testing, it appears that the cartridge itself is the problem rather than the firmware. When pushing it down all the way, I can see the icon, but once it clicks and goes up into the usual position, it disappears from the menu. Bad contacts I assume?

Thanks for the tip! I updated my system already, but it has a loose hinge, so I think I'm gonna exchange it tomorrow.

I'm having the same issue myself. It has to be the contacts.

what game header are they using now still the same game or a different one? what i dont get it is why did SC team use the AK one just to run on the 3DS? if Nintendo does an update just to block that cart image that would stop 2 big flash carts from running on the 3DS

After some clever use of notebook paper and scotch tape, it does indeed work. Just had to add some bulk to the cartridge. However after getting it working, I can't really recommend it. The quality of the graphics seems markedly worse than just using a regular DS. I think the bottom screen is smaller, or uses a either different resolution or type of screen than the original DS because it has a kind of sharp pixelated effect going on. The top screen also looked kind of off...but I think I may have just forgotten to turn 3D off for that one. I'm going to just continue using the DS for DS games and let the 3DS rot in my closet until someone releases a few decent games. The library is horrible so far IMO.

yeah the 3ds streches it out, if you want ds resolution and black bars on the side then press select and start before running the game

new to posting not new to the site. Here is what I got from this whole thing. I have 2 acekard 2i both hwid 81, also with akaoi 1.8.6. Ran the update with the same Dsi. only thing different on the cards are the games. Heres the funny thing. 1 works great and the other does not. They both went threw the update with no issues. the one that does not work displays acekard in window of the dsi, and 3ds. This thing is getting strange to me.
