I have been looking around on GBAtemp for a couple of weeks looking for information on Acekard 2 Videos...

I brought and Acekard 2 just a few days ago and was wondering
What format do the videos for the Acekard 2 have to be in and can you give me a website that has a video converter for converting videos into this unknown format...

Please give a brief description, NO WIERD STUFF

The problem is: when you open the Acekard's microSD on the computer it comes up with a list of folders and one is movies...
So i had a check around. I tried and AVI video, then MPEG3 and the ASF but none of them worked.

Your "movies" directory is not from AKAIO.

If you want videos go first download moonshell with dpg tools. Put moon shell on your card like your suppose to and open the folder called dpgtools and run dpgenc.exe. Drag any avi file in there and it'll convert it to a format moonshell can run.

Drag the new file onto your card, boot up moonshell and find the movie!

Enjoy!

The native firmware does support videos, but they have to be in .dsm format - a converter can be found bundled with DSMplay.

They usually turn out to be very good quality, but very large filesize...

Yeh and when we say large... They're HUGE. Couldn't find any quality setting controls in the convertor either.

I converted a 22 minute AVI that was originally 83MB and it turned into a fucking 600MB+ DSM file. Needless to say I deleted that bastard straight away.

Alright. I have no clue what everyones saying up there, but...

Let me explain.

The AK2 doesn't have its own video playback format. The answer? A homebrew program named moonshell. Before you walk away and say that the installation is too complicated, I'll take you through it step by step and tell you how to do videos.

http://www.acekard.com/download.php
First, download Moonshell. It's right under the firmware downloads.

When you're ready, copy the extracted files onto the root of your Acekard.

You're set! Run the .nds file and you can boot moonshell! It'll say there's an error, just wait a few seconds and it will pass.

Now, to the videos.

Moonshell plays a video format called .dpg. I use a program called SUPER to convert all my videos into .dpg format. Don't use the one that comes with Moonshell, its crappy.

SUPER can be found here: http://www.erightsoft.net/SUPER.html

When you have dragged and dropped the converted file (.dpg) into somewhere on your acekard that you can find, find it in moonshell and moonshell will play it!

PM me if you have anymore questions.
