Hacking Acekard 2.1 vs 2i contacts problem

I am planning to order an Acekard and reading on the forum brought the gold contact problem to my attention. After doing a couple of searches it seems there are more threads on the contact problem for the Acekard 2i and a lot fewer for the 2.1. I was wondering if this is because more people buy the 2i or could it be that the 2.1 cards are built better. I don't plan on buying a DSi unless my DS breaks so DSi compatibility is not an issue for me.

It's just luck, with both versions you might receive a crappy one.
