I'm confused here, I understand the method of replacing the songs from another Rock Band game to this one--but I don't understand how one would go about using Frets on Fire packs for other songs. Or if it's even possible for that matter.

Yeah i think you need to follow the RB1 custom guide first to create the mogg files and that. and then create the folders the same way as theyd extract from the packs. So it isnt as easy as just swapping files if you have customs.
I attemped it with some DLC files but they were too large to inject back into ACDC, but this was using all the seperate audio, so maybe its fine with mp3 customs.

Ok, I'm putting the RB Track Pack 1 main files into one folder C:/track pack
and the ac/dc track pack into another folder c:/acdc.
I select track pack for Track Files: and acdc for ACDC Files:
I press get. Then I press name. I only get the acdc track list in the left pane.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong.

EDIT: Ok figured that out. The main post should be edited so people know
that the tracks that are replacing the acdc tracks need to be in a folder
titled Other.

Now I can't get the ArkTool Gui v6.1 to open the songs.dtb.
I changed all of the artist / song titles in the GH2DTBEdit_unencrypted
program and saved the edited file.
I then open the ArkToolGui.exe and goto File then Open and direct it the
acdc/songs/gen. When I click OK i get: Error opening Ark file!
Help Please!

EDIT: Ok figured that out too. For any other Noob lost like I was
you open the main_0.ark file. Then you navigate to the song/gen/songs.dtb file.

It doesnt have to be a folder called other, i have folders called TP1 and TP2 and they work fine

Oh. Well when my folder was named track pack it didn't work, so maybe there is a problem when the name is too long. All I changed to get it working was the name of the file to Other.

So I made 2 discs last night. The first one I put in and all looked good,
but when it was going thru the load up screens it got stuck on the orange
one (I forget the logo) and made that awful teeeeeeeeeeeeeeee noise.
I had to eject and hold down the power button to restart.
I figured that I must have messed up the process at some point.
On the second disc I knew what I was doing and followed all of the
instructions and same problem at the same spot.
The unmodded AC/DC track pack works fine.

just make your folder such as C:\frets\ and put 18 songs in there and hit "size" and it should work

for people having folder problems i suggest avoiding spaces in the folder name like C:\tp1\ instead of C:\track pack 1\

Ive just created a Track Pack 2 disc, but finding the notes dont cut out when i miss one, anyone else get this? I assumed theyd cut out as im importing direct files containing the mids and audio, and ive created numerous GH3 customs using GH and RB rips that cut out. So should they cut out or not using this method, cus its a deal breaker for me making any more customs like this?
Also, replacing the videos, do i need to blank the two (i think) song videos that end "attract" or just the song videos?
Cheers

This thread seems pretty dead, but assassda if you happen to see this - I'm having the same problem as crezwell above. I created a disc with songs and videos from RB1. Everything went perfectly, following your tutorial. The songs imported fine, the names of the tracks were changed properly, and I had no problem replacing the videos. However, on about half of the songs, the notes don't cut out when you miss them. Songs like "Cherub Rock" and "Sabotage" work 100%, the notes cut out when you miss - but on songs like "I Think I'm Paranoid" and "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" the vocals are muted, and the notes don't cut out when you miss.

I am but a humble noob

when it comes to RB customs, and I'm certainly no programmer - but I've read that this problem has to do with the mixing of channels in the .mogg file for each song. And someone posted on SH that you can't just copy and paste the .mogg when making customs - you actually have to use a program like Audacity to mix the channels and make sure you have a total of 9 for Wii. Do you know if this is true - and maybe some tracks just match up by luck? And does your track replacer copy and paste that info? Any insight, or links to channel mixing tuts, would be appreciated. Great work, by the way.

I was under the impression that you only had to change the music track for custom songs. Are you using the official song files from RB1? and yes it only copies and pastes the mogg files to the right place it doesnt edit them. you should be able to manually edit the mogg files with audacity after you rename them and it prompts you "Ready to replace files Press any key to continue..." if you leave that window open. edit the files and then hit enter on that window. Sorry I dont fully understand the problem since I probably wouldnt even notice this while playing. Good luck

just to let everyone know this works using Rock Band Classic Rock as the base instead of the ACDC pack and Rock Band Classic Rock has 20 songs instead of 18 like ACDC
