Hacking about mai dump tool

i had never used mai dump before but since the vitamin cannot support all the games like god eater so i have to use it
the question is do i still need the free space to be doubled when using it to install games? or is it ok the tool will manage it ?

because its not being updated anymore, maidumptool is better anyway
