guys, I'm pretty sure he's talking about the o3ds's actual mode where it gives the app more memory (like Sm4sh and Monster Hunter).

Yeah, but most game are designed not to use as much memory as Smash and therefore don't need that extra memory.

Buy a New3DS, that's the only way to improve your 3DS performance.

Mine still applies.
Most games are already optimised for the old3DS and really don't need to run in high memory mode. The only game that really suffers and should have been running in High Memory mode is Hyrule Warriors Legends.
Seriously, why the fuck wasn't that game running in High Memory mode?

So in high memory mode the game will play like in the n3ds? Enemies on screen?

would the homebrew app benefit from high memory mode?

i am on 11.0 a9lh.
unlikely. more memory just allows more and/or higher detailed assets. even the o3ds has enough memory that code size isnt really an issue. whereas something like the gba may require you to use simpler algorithms at the expense of performance to save memory - I dont think that is the case for the 3ds.

The thing that makes the new 3DS faster is its increased processor clock speed, and only partially the RAM. Forcing an O3DS into that mode would provide no performance increase.

Answering the original question, yes it is possible, as evidenced by the fact that smash and mh run in that mode, and dev units have a setting to set the mode.

But no one (to my knowledge) knows how to force it into that mode w/o the application setting the mode.

From what people say pvp isn't even worth it

I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

If you can find enough for it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

I bet most people at the time still watched it in black and white
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.

@K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why they listed inflation rates

    Sorry didnt read that part
