About Club Nintendo....

Well recently I just "Elite Status" on my club Nintendo account and only need 10 more coins for "Platinum Status". I was looking at some stuff I'd like to redeem but I'm a bit worried that if I do that my rank may go down.
Do I have to hold that many coins until the end of the Club Nintendo year to reach and keep Platinum Status or can I spend the coins and it'll keep recorded how much I've earned and will earn beyond that?

Nope, your rank wont go down. Once you reach elite status, you retain it till you claim your reward. For more info, look at their FAQ. I've reached elite status twice and I used my points before claiming my reward but my status remained the same.
