how can i boot the 3ds without an sd card? i tried this https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/c...hts_arm9loaderhax_fork_updated_merges/d4htime but no luck.

also is there a way to get a homebrew launcher/fbi payload for Luma/a9lh?

For the Homebrew Launcher and FBI thing, no there is no payload for them. You install them as CIAs.

that's too bad. i just formatted my 3ds because fbi/freeshop/eshop couldn't install anything. now for the h&s dump...

Afaik, you cannot boot a9lh without sd card unless you have shadownand (i guess? not sure)

but there are a lot of people who said it's working, no Shadow nand needed.

Only if you update to the no SD needed fork of a9lh, or shadowNAND.

Google with the keyword "arm9loaderhax no sd", should appear the reddit link with the complie binary files.

Please explain the step you using to install new A9LH then. Since right now I'm using SDless A9LH by installed it using SafeA9LHInstaller.
And it's work fine. Be able to boot my both O3DS & N3DS without SD/MicroSD card.

Are you following https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Updating-a9lh ? Using the files from the post? If you can't make it work then post in the thread or resist your instruction-taking skills.

Then it shoudn't have any problem. Just replace the a9lh one from reddit instead of the guide provide.
That's what I'm doing. Althogh for N3DS, I already use SDless since the installing.
