Hacking A strange 3ds issue

Hi. I was playing some gba games. I was playing Pokémon firered omega a gba rom hack after two hours of gameplay the console gave me a popping sound and turned off without any warning! This also happened to me before after longplay with another gba Pokémon game. Though i saved and saved many tines i lost everything. What's wrong here.

Sounds like something is shorting inside. Have you ever dropped or or spilled a liquid on it ever.

I have dropped it last summer @Xenon Hacks
Could it be because my 3ds doesn't have the screws on it's back cover. I had to force open it and remove the battery a few months ago because of my r4 did something bad and i wasn't able to load any app.
