Hacking A question about the cheat system.

Hi all =)
i just got the DQ hand of the heavenly (sp) and i cant get past the first boat bit...
i got told to dl the "02_27_09_USRCHEAT.DAT.zip" file and put it inside my TTMENU folder (replacing the old one)
but how do i activate it? or does it activate itself?
i have turned the "Cheat: On" in the little menu before i load the game (the Cheat menu)
my DMA Mode is on (dont know what that is)
but yeh i just tried again, talked to everyone on the boat but still it doesnt work...
is there a way to do this ?

Enter the cheat menu and activate the 'Backup Enabler/Game Fix' cheat.
