I have a forgotten switch in 7.0 that I almost never use it, sometimes the need to update is strong, I want to install cfw for homebrew and not receive a ban in the process. here's my debate I have to upgrade to 9.0.1 and keep it clean, stay 7.0 waiting for something to happen or buying a new switch just for hacking?.

The chances of an exploit better than Fusee Gelee being released on 7.0 is slim to none. The only exploit we know of is Deja Vu and we already have an idea of how it works on firmware versions 4.1 and below so you can judge for yourself how Deja Vu compares to Fusee Gelee. Add that buying a new hackable Switch pretty much means you have to buy a used console and there is really not much reason for you to not hack your 7.0 console. If you really must, you can buy either a Switch Lite or the new red box Nintendo Switch for online play.
