Just to clarify, I'm not talking about the Nintendo Switch. Also, I don't know enough about it yet to be able to comment on whether or not it's an iteration on the Switch.

The 3D tech and the dual screens of the 3DS is just so ridiculously nice and appropriate for commutes/portability that I find it hard to think Nintendo will forgo all of that.
At the same time, the Switch is poised to cannibalise any 3DS-successor which does come out.
I'd be happy with a Pokemon Switch 3D with the 3D tech of the news3DS, maybe later on down the road some smaller form factor Switch with a clamshell +3D would be very enticing to get.



The clamshell design is just so nice.

Can't got from new to newest without putting out newer in between, so newer 3dsu (in regular, xl, and 2ds varieties, maybe 3dsui sometime down the road)
