Well, I've just installed Avira - It seems to work well. If anyone knows which file controls the 'Buy now' popup, please PM me about it.

(Please close thread, I'm getting the inkling that this will become a flamewar if p1ngpong finds out about it)

I say Avast!, it's awesome and got rid of a crap load of stuff. I got it free from a torrent that gave me more than 5 years free. I'm not telling where cus it's agents the rules but............. I guess that's it.

I use avast and comodo firewall. The only bad things are things I knew contained them... though, avast caught them before I could execute them

i would suggest clamwin~! it is portable

but the virus scan takes long long time

NOD32 all the way. Everything else sucks in comparison.

Also Norton doesn't deserve to be on people's hard drives.

avast 4.8 Pro is pretty good I heard, but Kaspersky and NOD32 is superior in term of protection. If you're not in a hostile environment, try Avira or avast, they're pretty good, and avast scans pretty quick.
Or, try BitDefender, people in another forum always posted things about BitDefender and F-Secure, hell, maybe they're worth a try. I use Kaspersky 7.0 by the way

and lol, here AVG screws up, it scans so quick that you don't have time to go to bathroom, but the result is nothing

Right now I'm using Avast but I'm going to try:

RegCure
Nod32
CCcleaner
Spybot Search and Destroy
O&O Defrag
and No.1 DVD Ripper (yes, it's a torrent again)

After I'm done, I'll tell you the results

This is what I got right now. I'll be editing this post for the results.

RegCure: Very god, it isn't a antivirus. it's a repair program. it fixed about 900 errors in my comp. See if it help it.

Nod32: It won't let me do anything, when I try to clean it says "error cleaning" and when I try to delete a virus it says "error deleting" it sucks (this just for me,

maybe not for other people)

CCcleaner

Spybot Search and Destroy

O&O Defrag

No.1 DVD Ripper
