Apple A few questions on jailbreaking an iPad...

Ugh, this always happens when I get me a new gadget.
Anyway, just got my iPad yesterday and it came with iOS 3.2.1 and I was wondering if I have no choice but to use jailbreakme.com as acquiring a secure enough wifi net connection isn't exactly easy for me to come by. ><

Acquirable but hard.

Anyway, not my only question.

When I do get this baby jailbroken will I be able to keep the apps I already have in it? I installed iBook and tossed in a bunch of stuff (mp3s, movies, ebooks) or will I have to find iBook all over again?

Also, how do I get other apps? Is it possible to get em without accessing wifi via my iPad and just download em from my PC and synch em to my iPad?

Thanks. I just wanna make sure I didn't end up with a really expensive paperweight on my hands.

Try downloading 4.2.1 and using Shift+Restore. Since 4.3 was only recently released you might still be able to get the SHSH signed by Apple. Of course if that doesn't work then you'll have to go to 4.3 (probs) and be stuck for a little while until the JB gets through (this shouldn't be long. Big thing is waiting for MobileSubstrate to be 4.3 ready. The exploits are queued up already)

All apps you currently have are saved on your computer. When you restore or update these will be synced to your iPad again. If you jailbreak then nothing is lost. Just a few firmware calls are editted and Cydia added. As for Cydia App downloading there is a program called Cyder but I could never get that to work. Cydia is the best option I'm afraid.

I have the option to try and jailbreak it come Wednesday when I can leech off my friend's Wifi... but I'll keep an eye on this place in case the JB for 4.3 comes along.
