Trying to decide whether to update or not =/. Dont have a pandora battery currently, though im about to go on a month long vacation.....so having a glitch free MGS Peace Walker would be pretty awesome. (Not to mention im hearing Persona 3 requires Prometheus also).

Just wondering is there any chance of bricking or anything of that sort when updating? Or is it as simple as doing M33 and GEN updates?

Well, Its literally as easy as installing GEN, and Ive had no problems, so you should use it, I find it much better than GEN.

Any comments from anyone else? I see like 6 people have been staring at the topic for 30 minutes now

Well buddy, if you managed to read the other topics concerning this VERY thing on GBATEMP, plus millions of other web sites. You'd know your answer and why people aren't responding cause it's pretty obvious.

It's worth it.

I stick to Gen D3.

Yes, it is much better than D3. Highly Recommend. I have few 6.20 games and they works perfectly fine even DEMO. Yes, even older games works great! The save works too. All of them. No corruption at all! I have been doing it for few weeks.

Heh. But really, It all depends. 5.00M33-6 with the m33_620 plugin can achieve the same compatibility as 5.50 Prometheus. But again, it all depends! There are ups and downs of both firmwares as both firmware are really good. Seriously, If you're not gonna be playing too much 6.20 games, just patch the ISO with the Prometheus Module.

Now about the updating stuff, If you're still on 5.00 M33 or GEN-D2 and under, upgrade to GEN-D3 directly and then run the Prometheus firmware updater. It's almost risk free.

Well yeah, the majority of the games im playing now are older (With the exclusion of MGS:PW, and soon to be Persona 3), so i was just worried about the compatability of those and upcoming PSP games. (Like, even on Gen D3, my PW LOVES to randomly lock up if i dont move around too much or if the action gets intense really fast)

No mem card speedup, still sticking on M33. :-P

Ugh. So what is it has MS Speed up hack? Some people play games in ISO format because some of us have genuine large capacity memory sticks. But if not having the MS Speed up hack kills you, you can do the M33-6+m33_620 combo or just patch your games. Same with GEN. Use the MS SPEEDUP MOD and patch your games.

So installing the prometheus addon fixes the issues with corrupted older saves when upgrading from GEN-D2 to D3?

I think this is why I don't use my psp much; too much FW babble to sort through ._.
I'm on m33-6 and that's all I know :\
I'm going to bed(4.44am)
