Hi,

I am currently using a 250gb hdd which is almost full. I don't have vwii modded and only use VC installs on wiiu side for wii games. I have a nintendont forwarder with gcn games on sd but hoping to move to new hdd.

I have a spare 4tb wd my passport which I am thinking of using (just ordered a y cable) but I think only 2tb can be used of it.

1) Do I just format it as fat32 with 32kb clusters?
2) Any way of using more than 2tb for Wii U? I think answer may be no but want to double check. I'm sure I read a post some time ago about someone using a 5tb hdd but had to do something to the hdd format or something.

Thanks

Just plug your new HD into the back of your wii u. Don't plug your old hard drive in. Go to setting, data section and format it. Wii u has its own format system which isn't compatible with pc. Once it's complete, plug your old hard drive into the front of the wii u USB plug. Might take a couple of min, but once your wii u sees both drive. You can then transfer all of your old content to your new hard drive.

I just did the same with mine going from a 160gb to 2tb. Honestly, a 500gb is sufficient. 1tb should let you install all the top 50 wii u, wii n GC titles. My 2tb is over kill times 2. I can't imagine ever getting close to 800gb atm. I'm only at 500gb and having a hard time throwing in more games just for the sake of having. You might need to get another y cable though.
