Some people create UMDrips where they remove the music/videos/both from a game to make the file very small. Such as my under 200 megabyte copy of Project 8.

PSP games vary greatly in size, so it all depends. Just to give you an idea, I took a screenshot of my PSP game folder in my external drive. These are all .cso files, and they are some of the most popular PSP games.

to add here that .CSO files are COMPRESSED ISO files if you go with ISO files they will be even bigger!

4gb should suffice most people .. as above you can see it varies file to file!

I have over 200 DS games on my 8 gig card without removing anything except to trim the rom.

Thats one of the reasons i went ds after selling my psp phat cause its much easier to carry a large list of games around

I think you have to d/l .ISO's first then compress them into .CSO's?

HUH?! whats DS ROMS got to do with the question here??

thats a pretty USLESS answer to cinnamonxv's question about PSP games!

@Lelouch & cinnamonxv yes CSO was compressed from the original ISO format ...you can do it yourself with an ISO to CSO program found on the internet ..

Yes it saves space but ..... has the downside of it takes a bit longer to load from the pro duo and sometimes it crashes games when you have a slow speed pro duo

pauls post actually helped me, I never knew you could trim nds roms until I pmd him hah

Yes, isos can be converted into cso format with various programs. I use ISO Compressor because it's the easiest to use, but it does take a while. I disagree with koby though; in my experience, my .cso's have never crashed, and I find the loading times to be the same. Even if there is a difference, I really doubt it's noticeable.

I believe GTA is an exception to the rule, since it's known to be a "problem game".

Both of my GTAs are .cso and neither have any slowdown.

War is Taiko no Tatsujin Portable 2 any good?

Eh...personally, I didn't like them. They series is much more enjoyable on the DS, where you feel like you're actually drumming. On the PSP, it just feels like a watered-down DDR.

Have you tried them in ISO format? Maybe you're just not noticing it. When I first tried LCS in CSO I didn't think there was any slowdown at all, then I tried it in ISO format and it made all the difference. I can not go back to CSOs.
