Hacking 4.55 update

Hey guys, I currently have a system with 4.55 fw. I was thinking of updating the system, but I saw somewhere on the forums awhile ago that you cant update the system if it has a broken disk drive.

My console has a broken disk drive so would I be able to update it?

depending on what he means by roken yes the console wont update but if its just the laser then he will be fine

Stick to 4.55, if you’re BD is definitively broken and won’t update, it’s the safest bet right now.

However: I would try download the 5.05 pup (links in my AIO GUIDE) update via USB/DNS (via Al-Azif) and see if you can succeed.
