Hacking 4.3 Softmodded Wii, safe to update?

I want to access the store on my Wii, it is 4.3 but still wants to update for some reason. Is it safe to update without bricking my Wii?

No it is not safe to update. you can install ios62 and you will be able to go into the store then.

You don't need to install IOS62 for the Shop Channel, just update the Shop Channel itself. You can do so by downloading the wad from ModMii, or by using something like MMM to download and install it from your Wii.

IOS62 is used for the Wii U transfer tool, but is not related to the Shop Channel. The Shop Channel was updated to v21 at the same time IOS62 was released.

Just to be clear, the new shop channel was updated because they added the wii u transfer tool to the channels you could download with it and it's THAT channel (once you download and install it) that actually does the transfer to the Wii U. IOS62 is needed for THAT channel to run so the shop channel will also install IOS62 but only IF you tell it to install the Wii U transfer channel that needs it and that wouldn't normally happen until after the new shop channel is installed and working.
