Hacking 3in1 sleep mode on gba games

well i flashed my dump of the minish cap to my 3in1 (NOR, not plus version, gba sized), and, unlike my cart, when I go into the games start menu and hit sleep, it looks like it is going into sleep mode for a half second but then it turns back on. do all 3 in 1's do that?
i dont really want to waste battery having it on all the time.

edit: does the same thing in my gba.
i can use my original cart if i have to, its no problem really, just dont like using my carts anymore

    Search the "misc" tab for "generated" and you'll get a million galleries, but I recommend you filter by rating, 4 stars or more.
