Hacking 3ds Xl on 4.4.0 what to do next

I just got a brand new 3ds XL red on 4.4.0.
Can someone please explain what I should do now if I want to use the Gateway 3ds?
Also how do I backup my nand?

Dont play any games until you get gateway unless you are sure its under 4.5 rest look up this forum / gateway site & documents

Ok I have watched the video and it is very informative.
What I would like to find out now is when a user turns the 3ds xl off do they just leave it in sleep mode or do they turn completely off and run grey cart again?
Also with emunand is it true that you really only need that if you are running real carts from the 3ds in gateway mode?

My kids always power off. It's only a few taps of the stylus to be back in NDS profile when turned back on.

To my understanding you also need it for games that require a higher firmware than 4.5 to run.

No you don't,
Games with higher firmware run perfectly fine as long as you are in Gateway mode.

Well let me add something I do know then, you do need it to go online or use the eshop, since that checks for the latest firmware.

buy a gateway and silently wait for your 3ds to be a paperweight. i would just stay away from 3ds flashcards unless that bricks are explained.

update to 7.1.0 so you will be protected from brickway Gateway has been bricking 3DS's recently, just so ya know.

No, power up, go to settings/other settings/profile/nds profile and hey presto, restarts and go to the game icon.
