I have a 3ds xl that I modded and have all of my software on an SD card. I noticed that the boot screen does not show and it stays on a black screen for about 15-20 seconds before going to the home screen. 1. Can I turn the boot screen animation back on. Not sure how I would have turned it off. 2. Anything I should check to ensure all is well. It works and plays fine. Just curious. Thanks!

This problem is proportional to the size of your SD; worse at larger capacities. By your estimate (assuming it's not a bad card or can't perform per spec), I'd say you're using a 128 GB or 256 GB card (like mine). There's an experimental (risky) firmware mod buried in this forum that improves this by faking the free space check, which is calculated at boot, but I'm not ready. Backing up and migrating from a 128 GB to 256 GB card was a pain already for me without a PC.

Yes. Mine is likely due to the 256GB card I am using. I am not really concerned. But I would like the spalsh screen back at boot. No idea where it went.

3DS had a splash screen? Well I do recall some option either in Luma (Boot with Select?) or GodMode9 (Boot with Start).
