3DS Volume Not Working

I have an old 3DS that might have gotten water damage; wouldn’t turn on and started working after years. Everything works fine now, except the volume. Everything is dead silent. Oddly enough, the capture sound effect from 3DS Camera still plays, which means the speakers still work, right? I checked on a volume slider application, and the slider is giving values, but there is no output sound still. Is there a way to maybe override the speakers and have the 3DS play audio again?

Is there anything that may of broken off into the headphone port thats making the console think its there?

No, but that might be what the water damage did. Thanks for the information. In that case, is there a way to kill the headphone jack?
