Ok, so basically first I had a SanDisk extreme 32g micro sd card.
Then I downgraded to a stock 4gb because I needed my 32gb for my phone.
My plan was to use it as a retro gaming machine because virtual console titles are small but it turns out that within a few days I filled it up.

So my question is the Lexar High-Speed MicroSDHC 16GB UHS-1 300x 45mb/s compatible with my device? (New 3ds xl
Here is a link to it:

Which is better SanDisk or Lexar? I was going to buy a Lexar but then I saw SanDisk are Water-proof, temperature proof, X-ray proof, and shock proof.

Can Lexar sd stand heat up to 85 degrees like SanDisk can? Also are Lexar's Water-proof, temperature proof, X-ray proof, and shock proof?
Also, I think I saw Lexar's corrupt your files after 6 months.
It doesn't matter if a card is shock proof etc. Your console will be dead long before you have to worry if you card is dead. Without your console the files on the card are useless. Same with heating up. Your console will be dead long before you care what happens to the card. Get whichever is cheaper and not fake.

Does it matter what the read/write speeds are?
Not really. Possible places where it might have an effect:
  • How fast the icons appear, on large capacity SD cards
  • Loading screens on some games (not sure on this)
I don't think it has any effect on installation speed of cias.

I could be corrected on the above. But if there is an effect, it's a negligible one that won't affect your day-to-day experience. Not worth paying extra for I don't think.

Would you say 30mb read speeds is good for 16gb micro sd card

One of the sites that weren't blocked on the school's network was some file uploading sites. I would upload some games, write down the URL and take it to school one day.

It was easy to bypass some of the restrictions, as one of the admins left a registry key in the administrative shares drive, which allowed me to get around the blocking of some sites.
