Well, I found something interesting. Unzip the following file and copy it to the SD card.

Open 3DS Sound and browse to it. It will play the audio from it. It does that with all files of that extension. Would you copy full movies to listen to them on the go?

Yes, it's been known for a while now that the 3Ds can play mp4 file. You can rip any audio from a movie, convert it and listen to it on the console.

um, i think the TS meant that 3DS Sound can ALSO play video mp4 files. it fully supports mp4 files, just doesn't display video. so no conversion nor ripping necessary, just copypasta.

Perhaps a basis of some kind of a future update?
"Nintendo 3DS Media" a conversion for Nintendo 3DS sound?
That would be cool since the Nintendo Video name has been taken and they were talking about the 3DS being able to record 3D video
