Hacking 3DS on 10.4

I have a 3ds with 9.2. I was wondering if I could just backup the sysnand on that one and restore on my other 3ds which is on 10.4. or do I simply need a hard mod?

No Nand's are console unique, you can however Nand mod the 10.4 console and downgrade.

it's kind of sad because I bought the 3ds today from GameStop refurbished. and it looked really brand new. but it was on 10.4

Return it; gamestop had brand new ones for $175

Always an option but I was just giving other idea's since OP is aware of the hard mod route
