There isn't really a guide like that unfortunately. The scene is evolving too quickly for a guide like that to keep up. Use the Brazilian method first, then look at compiling fw.img so you can install games that don't have both a disk and eShop version, and install DLC etc. Then look at Haxchi to boot the fw.img a bit faster. You'll have to do a lot of searching around, it isn't all in one place.

I almost feel like holding off for a bit because from what I understand SALT's CFW is going to be a bit of a game changer if it's anything like A9LH. EDIT: I just got uTikDownloadHelper as well. Do you know it to be a trusted source? Or is there something new and better? I would be ecstatic if something like freEshop came out for wiiU after CFW

Fw.img allows you to boot into a sig-patched mode to use fakes with fake tickets (the Brazilian method is away of getting legit tickets so you don't need any sig-patching).

Ok so here it goes.

I have 2 2ds systems

1 has a9lh installed and is on the latest firmware. I also have LoE installed on this system.

1 is on 11.0 that i want to downgrade.


The cfw enabled 2ds was banned for the sun/moon stuff. I've used both methods to bypass online ban and e-shop ban so i can go online and access eshop as of now.

However i cant link a NNID to the cfw enabled 2ds. Which means i couldn't download steeldiver.


So any alternative for steeldiver? That seems to be the last step i need. (I know about OOThax but i dont have the game. Only carts i have are Pokemon X and Alpha Sapphire)

Any help guys??

I finished Plailect guide and my o3DS is now updated to 11.2. I had used a old gateway firmware to play before and now moved away from it. I still have some noob questions.

1. Can I still load and play .3ds roms? If so what app do I need to use/install?
2. If no, do I have to convert all my .3ds roms into .cia files?
3. Do I need a buy a bigger card now for all the cia games? I am using a 4GB SD Card.
4. Or can I somehow repurpose my microsd card that was used in my Gateway cart?

I didn't see the "cia" part. You have to have CFW to install any and all CIAs. You can only use the .3dsx of JKSM.

i have a quick question, i load ROMs onto a DSi XL with a R4 card, what I want to know is If I buy a new 3DS XL factory refurbished from Nintendo can a R4 card or something similar be used? The system is for my daughter and we been using ROMs since the first DS model. I just dont want to buy something that may have patched firmware on it.

I want to do a dsiware downgrade from my old 3ds to my new3ds xl. The problem is that my old 3ds is US and my n3ds is JP.
So, my idea is to change the region of the old 3ds to jp and then downgrade my new3ds xl. After that I change the region back of the o3ds back to us. Is this safe??

And this is what I found on the guide: "Region changing using ctrtransfer (which this method uses) seems to cause reboot patches to break. The cause for this is unknown, but for now Old 3DS users will be unable to play extended memory mode games (such as Monster Hunter, Super Smash Bros, and Pokémon Sun / Moon)."

So, if I change the region of the o3ds back to US, it can't play pokemon moon/sun?

If you want to be sure of a DS flashcart working it's best to have CFW. Then 99% of carts will work. A lot of flashcarts got blocked on 7.x firmware and refurbished consoles will have the latest firmware. A few newer flashcarts escaped the cut, like the DSTwo. So I guess it depends how new the flashcart is. If you got it when the DSi was the latest console it will be unlikely to work. You'd be better off getting a second hand consoles rather than a Nintendo refurbished one, so you can be sure it is on 10.7 or less (you can get CFW easily on this version or below by following 3ds.guide/get-started).

To then make a really old flashcart work you'd then want to search for ApacheThunder's TWL loader (for ones just blocked on 7.x then you only need the whitelist cia).

I use the 3ds browser and I get a black screen saying "an error has occurred, hold down power to turn off".

What do I do!?

Edit:- tried many resets, sometimes I get a black screen, sometimes I get the normal browser screen but the 3ds locks up 2 secs later.

You only use the

Hello,

I hope someone can point me to the right place or steps for this....

Today I tried Downgrading a New 3DS for a friend using dsiware and a second (my O3DS) with CFW. I basically got up to the where we successfully transferred my system onto his and then I tired restoring the Source (my O3DS) NAND back and realise that the NAND that was saved on my SD was my sysNAND from months and months ago and my system is now back on 4.5 and I don't think I have an emuNAND anymore.

I've ben left with 3 black apps all linking to the system transfer setup in the settings on my Home Menu and I can still see that I have the Homebrew Launcher and FBI, but they won't load and the 3DS just displays that the SD card has been ejected when I try to run them. I don't want to play around because I want to make sure that I don't loose my emuNAND access and my ability to use the Gateway Card.

You probably should have started with that.... What have you tried?

By the way if one part of the guide won't work as expected, doing something different than it says is a recipe for bricking. If you don't understand a part of can't get it to work, ask here before doing something silly.

Yes, you can use your Sky3DS as a Cubic Ninja. Follow the guide at 3ds.guide/get-started
For the second console you'll need to have hacked your 10.7 one first (this is assuming they are both of the same region and either both old 3DS or both new 3DS or the 10.7 one is old and the 11.0 one is new).

I have an American o3DS and I'm planning to buy an European N3DS and unlock it through system transfer, but I've read that its not possible to do a system transfer if they're not from the same region, so why not? I also read that I must have both on the same version (Like 11.0.0 or so) is this version in the Emunand or in the Sysnand?
