FWIW, of my two 3DS', my black one is the one with bad wobble like in the video. My aqua/blue 3DS has no discernible wobble.

This happens to me with my Cosmo Black 3DS, but it's definitely not as much as the one in the video.
I also have 3 DS lites, and one of them does this as well (as badly as the 3DS in the video). Coincidentally, it's the only one that does not have a broken hinge despite it being the one I play the most.
Thus, I believe the looseness is not a flaw but rather it's designed to prevent cracking the hinge, and as far as I'm concerned this is only an issue when playing the gyroscope games or when playing while laying on your back (which I actually enjoy doing).

Btw, for this poll to be accurate it needs to separate the two 3DS colors.

woops, totally forgot about that.

its not a scientific poll by no means, but seems to suggest that about half have more wobble than their should be, in my view for $250 game machine.

just checked my 3DS it moves a little, then i checked my DSi save exact give (about 2 CM give would be my guess)

is your DSi new?

no about 6-8 months old but i have kept it in as good of shape as possible

I'm eager for anyone to respond concerning an exchanged 3DS's hinge.

Yes it did wobble a lot, it was very annoying when I was playing... FYI this 3DS was already damaged (dead pix...etc.)

mine moves very slightly but you said if it moves a little bit to vote yes. mine however is nowhere near as bad as the one in the video.

edit: forgot to mention i have the cosmo black

and on a side note its so slight that i probably wouldn't have even noticed w/o this thread

i have a slight looseness on the left side and the screen commonly will close if i am moving a lot or something
aka the lock isnt very secure

theres are very minor issues though

and i have blue

Yes, aqua blue. Not as drastic as in the vid, but I'll definitely keep an eye on it. Thanks for the post/poll.

My aqua blue 3DS don't wobble at all, I finally have some luck

I just called nintendo, talked to Mike, he told me that's how it's suppose tobe, it suppose to move alittle.
the ones that are stiff will suffer crack hinges if not used carefully.

I have 5 3ds (got it for the family) and they all move alittle.

if your still are mad at the wobble find alittle thin (I mean real thin) piece of plastic or paper (plastic would be good, if it's too thick use fine grid sand paper to thin it out), cut it into a C-shape like spacer and put it in the little gap and that should fix your wobble problem.

remember when you do this it will be there and to get it out you have to get and thread or thin string and remove it like if your using floss.

Mine has a little wobble, it concerned me at first, since this is more than my DS Lite, but it still feels relatively sturdy, although I have noticed the odd creak when opening/closing lol.

mine wobbbles but i wasnt scared or anything because my dsi and ds lite wobble a lot more than the 3ds

As the post above says it's supposed to wobble to protect the system. All my nds>>3ds systems wobble slightly when moved and I haven't had a problem with any of them.
