I think its more of "what determines wobble"...so heres a tutorial for the ACTUAL 3DS owners out there:

1)Open the op scren to the first click.
2)Hold the 3DS flat like a board in your left hand.
3)position index finger of right hand between the front cameras and push gently.
4)if the lid moves a little bit then please answer "YES" to the above poll.

As for me, i'd prefer a hinge with a little give that lasts for a long time, then a stiff hinge that will simply break after a few months.
In that case, no.

Thanks for the guidelines, btw.

I just checked my dsi and it has the same amount of wobble to the top screen as my 3ds. Its got to be to avoid breaking the hinge. But a lot of wobble doesn't sound right to me, it should be a little wobble to avoid breakage.

Mine dont wobble at all.
Man, i lucked out. Not getting any headaches/nausea from the 3d, AND no wobble

Doing this, I had to push enough to lift the whole 3ds up for it to wobble, and even then, I only knew it wobbled because it made some squeaks, otherwise I wouldn't have noticed any wobble at all.

so, not sure what poll option I should choose

Also, going by these instructions, my dsi has more wobble than my 3ds

so, do you think the slight wobble could get worse, or based on what you stated, it can actually deter breakage?

Shit I hope mine has none of these problems on Thursday. It's difficult to get to where I preordered mine and i'm only there once a week. I'll have to make sure I open it straight away and test it heaps sneaky at work to make sure I don't need to take it back.

The wobble on my DSlite got no worse after 4 years of good use, so i think its a deterrent measure (as in, slight wobble to prevent the hinge breaking should you knock it slightly etc, always better to have a little give as an impact will use this give as a "shock absorber" of sorts, if the give is not there then it could just break straight away) rather than an issue..in fact i might even go so far as to say that if it DOESN'T wobble, THAT might be the bad thing, rather than it wobbling.
But all this is pure speculation, UNLESS someone gets on the phone to nintendo and asks them about it?

it moves in the sense that the hinges are fighting against it. But it does not wobble so much that I can do a balancing act with it. (it's late at night)

first and foremost thank you for creating the wobble tutorial. If anyone is willing to call nintendo to hear what they have to say, would be much appreciated.

I think "wobble" is a very broad term, wobble implies that the top is loose, i can honestly say its not loose, but there is a bit of "give" to it..

once again you've covered the nuance of it, sadly I can't change the title, however the tutorial you made is clear.

so I shouldn't return it over this, because I thought it was a manufacturer's error.

Mine wobbles quite a bit regardless of whether it is after the clicking sound or not.

It's not too annoying, though.
