Is this normal?
I downloaded a 3DS GBA Emulator and all of the sudden the rom was going extremely slow.

What's up with that?

Are you using O3DS or N3DS? Because there is quite a big speed difference between the two. (N3DS is better to use because emulators like mGBA run roms at full speed without error for me)

Adding on to this, if you're using an o3DS, it's better to just inject GBA ROMs into VC titles. I have an o3DS and have little to no issues running GBA VC titles.

Perhaps he's on 9.3-10.7 though, but still, there's no excuse not to downgrade to do what you said! :P

I'm on 9.2.
But what do you mean about VC titles? sorry.
VC stands for Virtual Console. You can use PC tools to inject a GBA ROM into a GBA VC CIA. And then you install the injected VC CIA onto your 3DS to both sysnand and emunand, making sure you also have a patched AGB_FIRM on both nands in the process.
There are quite a few tutorials in setting up GBA injections and AGB_FIRM patching for your 3DS.

If you use the custom gba vc only on emunand, you dont need to patch the agb_firm on sysnand. But of course, it depends where you want to use your gba titles.

Booting them from emunand has never been successful for me (what I posted was info I gained from another user a few days ago), however sysnand always seems to be the only nand I can boot them from. :/

it has to do with the cfw you are using, not all are identical and only works almost the same. At least for me, booting gba and dsi titles from rxtools 2.6 works fine.

iirc, I tried booting them from an rxtools 3.0 nightly. That was where the VC CIAs weren't working, not even with everything set up correctly.

I might try ReiNAND on my N3DS when I get the chance.

Try with another cfw and share your results :ha:

So the conclusion would probably just get a New 3DS, right?
Not really... all you have to do is run rxtools dev mode (it patches gba and dsi firms on-the-fly) and install the Custom GBA CIAs, and you should be good to go, I guess. Well, that's if you plan to boot them from sysnand only...

Sorry again, could you link me a tutorial on how to do that?
