Hacking 3DS Gateway Help - Crashing NAND Backup

Hi,

I just got my Gateway today and have a 3DS XL w/ fw 4.4.0-10U

I followed this n00b guide (https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-play-3ds-games-using-gateway-3ds-the-complete-guide.360176/) but can't get past Backup NAND as 3DS keeps crashing with an error.

It doesn't say if I have to delete the files from the USB card before putting on the Loader file but I tried it with both and always crashes. Any idea?

Do you have enough room on your SD card? The nand backup is ~1GB

I would say you need to fully format the SD card and try again (but don't forget to put the Launcher.dat back on the card). Try formatting with Panasonic SD Formatter.

Yea it's a 32GB SD Card so room isn't a problem.

I am using that blur install card for this right?

Even if I select the DS Profile w/o a card inserted it crashes or is that supposed to do that if the gateway isn't reading right?

Sounds like this hack corrupted the FW, can I redo it?

nope tried it with another 32GB SD card (I have a few). It crashes if the gateway is plugged in or even if it isn't.

I used the GW_OMEGA_2.6 maybe it's buggy? Should I try an older version?

Is there anything of value (saves, etc.) on your 3DS atm? Could just do a system format then reinstall the DS Profile exploit and re-attempt the NAND backup.

No it's brand new never even used it before so nothing to lose at all.

Yeah, just do a system format and replace the files on your DS cartridge as well. Make sure you're downloading from GW's page and not a third-party source.

If it still freezes try finding a 4.5 game and updating to that.

I think I downloaded it from the Gateway site anyway just redownloaded to verify.

Donkey Kong Country 3DS (US) is 4.5 correct? I'll order it now.

Updating wont do a damn thing! You need to do a FAT32 clear install on the BIG SD.

What you mean BIG SD? This only takes micro SD cards.

The big sd is the one in the 3ds on the side that's where you put the launcher.dat and that's where the band dump goes not the micro sd
