My bravely default is missing its title icon and wont start it says "An error occurred (ErrDisp) The SD card was removed. Press any button to reboot."

It shows up as a '?' in system settings should I delete it ?

Or find it in fbi somehow.

I just want to know proper procedure so I don't screw anything up.

No, that would be a very bad idea.

Standard procedure: copy everything off your SD card (Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier is recommended since there's a possibility of corruption), format the card, test the empty card with h2testw, and copy everything back again. See if that fixes it. If the test fails or if you can't format the card, then you should get a new card (and copy everything to the new card after formatting and testing it).

That’s the safest way to do it, but I got impatient and just used FBI to search for the title ID, deleted the game and its ticket, and reinstalled it. i appreciate you though. ill keep these tools in mind if it happens again

You're lucky that didn't completely corrupt the ticket database.

Things like this don't just magically happen on their own. At the risk of sounding overly dramatic, this thing could be a ticking time bomb and next time you might not be so lucky. Checking your SD card is the only way to be sure.

I hope you're at least backing up your save data regularly...
