Am I the only one who thinks it's weird that we haven't seen any 3DS games dumped yet? I mean, the media has had US games for weeks now, and Japanese games have been at retail for well over a month. What is taking so long?

3DS games aren't DS games. They don't know how to dump them.

And please keep piracy talking in the Hacking section.

I don't doubt people have tried to dump them. Whether the dumps that are generated are valid is the problem, and is the most likely reason why they aren't out in the open.

3DS mode isn't hacked yet and he wants to see .n3ds roms...
    For the last time-
3DS mode is not hacked yet, thus, we have no ability to hack/dump roms from the 3DS.

There could be hardware hacks already, and not many people on gbatemp would know about it since all they care about are flashcarts and softmods.

Yeah, the 3DS mode doesn't need to be hacked at all to get a working dump.

If 3DS mode isn't hacked there's no way to know if it's a working dump in the first place.

Lots of DSi dumps that were thought to be done right turned out to be fucked up and we didn't find out until we had proper DSi mode.

Until we have some way of running them, we can't tell if a dump was proper/complete.

Right - but we can try to dump them beforehand in any case.

Besides, the argument that "Don't talk about it, 3DS mode isn't hacked yet" would just mean that it never will get hacked.

And how the hell do you suppose we check the dump?
We need to be able to run roms before we can properly dump them

OP: holy shit you've been here a while....welcome back?

And who has one of those 'lying around'? DSi dumps were worth while since you could still play them on the older DS mode without issues. Since you can't do that with 3DS games it makes no sense to dump them and release it. A dump would be useful from a technical perspective in terms of how it is done and if there are any differences between how a 3DS ROM looks. But to 'regular' users it would be of little to no value. Let the hackers at Team Twiizers and the like hack away at dumping roms and analysing how the 3DS works.

It's not about who has them lying around, it's about the people who dump the games have elaborate hardware to dump the roms, so a development 3ds wouldn't be beyond them if they care enough to solder all sorts of things around their 3ds.
    I'm a doubter, I just like to de-rail bandwagons.

I don't see the point in hacking my 3DS when I get it anyway. Partially because I only turned to piracy because I was unemployed and thus needed to steal my games or simply not have anything to do, but mostly because even if it is eventually hacked, I get the feeling 3DS roms are gonna be fuckin' huge, big enough so that it would take my feeble setup too long to download them to be worth my time.

Besides, I think the cute girl in my local GAME store would be much more open to the idea of a date if I ever spent any money in the store instead of just dropping in to kill time.

You don't know what all or even most of the community wants, so kindly cease making assumptions.
