ROM Hack 3DS Error on startup

When I start up my 3ds, I get a message saying

An error has occurred:
Launched from an unsupported location: [DEB.
Press any button to shutdown

After that, it starts up normally, but the next startup, it will do it again. What's going on?

Explain your setup. Cfw? B9s or a9lh? Firmware? 3ds model? Emunand or sysnand? What did you do prior to this happening? Also by the way this is the wrong forum for your question. From now on, errors like this should go in the 3ds Homebrew development forum or 3ds flashcarts and custom firmwares section, it's fine for now though.

Luma 8.1 11.5 N3ds latest b9s Sysnand. I edited the home menu and updated to 11.5. Oops, I thought I was in the CFW section, I must have misclicked.

In that case, why not just reinstall the default home menu, or try recovery mode to reinstall the whole firmware.

It happened before I installed the custom home menu, also my previous custom home menu never did this.

Is luma being booted directly from boot.firm on the root or is it being chainloaded? Also you are using b9s 1.2 correct?

What boot manager are you using and have you made sure you're on the latest version of Luma and the boot manager?

Can you a boot to GodMode9 and Do you have a NAND backup before you installed the custom Home Screen?

First just try getting rid of it and testing of that works. If it does, we can see if there's a way to fix the error that way. If all else fails delete bootani 9.

It's most likely an issue with BootAnim9, like I said, make sure it's updated to the latest version.
Have you tried to run GBA VC, or DSiWare games (and if you're on an O3DS then extended memory mode games like Smash Bros and Pokemon S/M)? If my hunch is correct, they won't work.

It's most likely an issue with BootAnim9, like I said, make sure it's updated to the latest version.

It seems to have fixed itself for now, and yes, VC works.

Glad your problem was fixed, but it's probably not a good idea to mess with your home menu's data if you don't know what you are doing. You do you, though.
