Version 1.5.0 is now available. By request, I've added the ability to unlock photo editor stickers, filters and frames.

Version 1.5.1 is now available.

In this version, I've added an "Exit ID" to the location section. The exit ID is the area which is loaded after exiting some areas like certain buildings in towns (it's not always used).

A few location examples:
0 - "Farebury"
2 - "Farebury" (Farebury church)
4 - "Farebury" (Farebury weapons shop. The Exit ID is required for this area)
11 - "Farebury" (Mysterious house with no exits)
300 - "Le Club Puff-Puff"
301 - "Opening" / "Wooded Opening"
303 - "Farebury Region" (Area on the world map. [Some safe coordinates: 1163.215, 653.16, -4757.482])

Note that the regular save slots only have scripts for particular areas, while the quicksave slot will load you into anywhere. For example, area ID 2 (Farebury church) will work on both, but when used on the regular slots it will load you in-front of the nun or priest. The quicksave slot will place you at the position defined by the coordinate values. When loading into area ID 301 (Opening), the game will run the opening sequence when loading via the regular save slots.

Version 1.5.2 is now available.

This one adds another activation flag for the characters. This was actually an oversight from when I first created the editor. You were able to add or remove the characters from the line-up, however turns out there's also a flag which indicates whether they're actually active, and that was missing. For example, by checking the new "Active" flag, you can now force the game's opening to run with a different character. The party member will now also appear when making them the team leader if they've not previously been added to the party.

I decided to provide the ability to toggle both "Available/in line-up" and "Active" independently because I suspect there may be some instances in which you've added certain characters to the party, but you may not have them present with you in the story.

Im having an issue with the editor. When i click to modify the hero the editor shrinks down to a smaller size and i cannot resize it so i cannot access the options on the right. any idea how to fix this? i just want to fix my skill points lol

Really? How bizarre. The editor does resize, but it should resize to the correct dimensions to fit all the options in. I've never seen it not do so before. Could you post a screenshot?

EDIT: I've updated the editor to allow resizing. Just launch the program with the following command line argument: -resizable

If anyone else has experienced this resizing problem, I'd like to know.

I'm not super great with computer things. How do I launch it with a command line 🙃

Create a shortcut to the exe file (right-click -> create shortcut). Right-click on the shortcut and go to properties. Here you'll find a field called "Target". At the end of it (after the exe path), enter a space and then type "-resizable" (without quotes). When you launch the editor via this shortcut, you should then be able to resize the window.

Please let me know if it works, and if you don't mind, could you also post a screenshot which shows the problem you were having?

I'm not home right now but I will try as soon as I can! I appreciate this and the work you've done on this program. Helping me relive a great game :)

No worries, and you're welcome. Glad to see people are having fun with it. B-)
so i updated and did the resize thing but now it resizes and looks like this. before it would resize to where the white box is. so i have the same access as before essentially. i wonder why

I see. It's because the tab container isn't resizing correctly. I'll apply the resize functionality to the tab container too, give me a few moments to have a look.

Do the other tabs resize correctly?

Version 1.5.4 is now available. Let me know if it works. Can you also post a couple screenshots of the different tabs so I can see how it looks on your machine?

Version 1.5.5 is now available. I've added the ability to toggle window resizing from the main menu for those who're experiencing similar difficulties with the GUI. Turns out this is caused by Windows font settings.

Also beware that Windows Defender once again seems to be detecting a virus in DQ83DSSaveEditor.exe. I assure you this is a false-positive and the editor is completely free of malicious code. The following virus scanning vendors report version 1.5.5 as safe:

Acronis (Static ML), AhnLab-V3, Alibaba, AliCloud, ALYac, Antiy-AVL, Arcabit, Avast, Avert Labs, AVG, Avira (no cloud), Baidu, BitDefender, BitDefenderTheta, ClamAV, CMC, CrowdStrike Falcon, Cybereason, Cylance, Cynet, DeepInstinct, DrWeb, Elastic, Emsisoft, eScan, ESET-NOD32, Fortinet, GData, Google, Gridinsoft (no cloud), Ikarus, Jiangmin, K7AntiVirus, K7GW, Kaspersky, Kingsoft, Lionic, Malwarebytes, MAX, MaxSecure, McAfee Scanner, Microsoft, NANO-Antivirus, Palo Alto Networks, Panda, QuickHeal, Rising, Sangfor Engine Zero, SentinelOne (Static ML), Skyhigh (SWG), Sophos, SUPERAntiSpyware, Symantec, TACHYON, TEHTRIS, Tencent, Trapmine, Trellix (FireEye), TrendMicro, TrendMicro-HouseCall, Varist, VBA32, VIPRE, VirIT, ViRobot, Webroot, WithSecure, Xcitium, Yandex, Zillya, ZoneAlarm by Check Point, Zoner

Version 1.5.6 is now available. Added drag and drop support for quick loading of save files. Also added update collected items list option to the settings menu (this has always been enabled since version 1.2.0).

No matter what I try I cannot download the save editor. It always says virus detected and refuses to even let me ignore the warning.

That must be annoying. Unfortunately there's little I can do about these false-positive detections. However, you should have the ability to deactivate your virus scanner(s). Have you tried looking into that?

Version 1.6.0/1.6.1 is now available.

- Added bank balance to credit section
- Added 'Save As' to the file menu
- Added list of location names
- Added character level and experience lookup table
- Added character HP and MP status bars
- Added mouse controls to bag and monster teams lists
- Added extended time calculation to time played section
- Monster teams recruitable monsters filter enabled by default

I also discovered that when you load into an area from save slots 1 or 2 which don't have a save point, the screen remains blank but the area does actually load. For example if you load into areas 104, 105 or 106 (Waterfall Cave), the area will be populated by monsters. After a short time, you'll encounter one and this will the load the battle screen.

Additional bag and monster teams lists mouse controls:
- Double click: Add item or monster / assign monster to team
- Right click: Remove item / unassign or release monster

I think I've been pretty thorough when searching through the area IDs, looking for values which load the player into an actual map. The areas which seem to lead nowhere are either labelled "Unknown" or appear greyed out. However, if you do find a new loadable location, please let me know. I'd like to add it to the list.
