Well, I'm gonna buy a 3DS this saturday, however, there's one thing I dont quite understand...
How come there's only two colors for the 3DS now?
What happened to the beautiful red and black one? D=

Red and black is a ds lite color. You get black or an aqua blue. I got black.

no, Red was announced at E3 before the formal announcement. Same with that super awesome orange one.

I wanted a red one too. Been a little disappointed when I noticed that they're just selling two colors for release.

But right now I'm quite satisfied with my black one. I won't buy a red one if it ever comes, unless my black one doesn't work anymore... xD

It's the same thing Nintendo did with the DSi, release two colors, then introduce more colors over time. Expect to see some news about new colors in a few months.

Red and black is a ds lite color. You get black or an aqua blue. I got black.

It's red, and black on the 3D screen side.

Orange was by far the best colour at E3 IMO but I don't think it will ever reach the light of day. If it does I'd be tempted to buy it despite my shitty eye 3D problems.

I hope that they bring out a black XL sized one someday though.

I loved the red, its the best colour they showed at E3. Though I like black as well.

I'm probably gonna sit out the 3DS a bit until they release a second revision with red or just a red version of the present 3DS.

When I went to test the 3DS (in some barracks around one month before it got released), the damn nintendo girls couldnt explain to me what happened to the red one. -.-"

I guess I'll have to content myself with a black one, maybe that way the red paint wont turn white after a few months of extreme addiction (my red ds lite is almost white now xP)

Just googled on some websites and it seems that Nintendo decided to postpone the release of the red one. D=
Maybe someone will make shell's for the 3DS, like they did for DS Lite. =S

After carefully examining my black 3DS I've discovered the that top piece is actually covered with a layer of clear plastic so there's no chance of the colour rubbing off from that part anyway. Not so sure aroubt the rest of the device though.

When I had my black DS Lite the color never disapeared, so maybe they make the colored ones diferently. >.
