It's caused by not unlinking your NANDs.

I dunno, I unlinked my nands, and one of my cia games keeps disappearing and showing back up gift-wrapped. I'm actually kinda scared to play it in case I lose my save when it re-wraps itself again.

if your nands are unlinked and its just that game then you have a "bad" cia . . . simple solution get one from another 3ds related website like that reddit page about 3ds for instance

Maybe that game is from another region and your cfw don't have region free. Use ntr or an app like free multi patcher to enable region free.

Like what stuff? It shouldn't be that difficult to backup and restore an AGB save, should it? (Also, I'm not an i d i o t, omfg stop bullying)

im also having an issue. My NANDs are unlinked, I'm 100% sure of it, I just did it again today to ensure theyre unlinked. All my games show up as gifts. even after unwrapping them.

and to avoid making another thread, if anyone can help with xorpad generation, it just creates a file called "s" in the root of my sd card

Well I'm not an expert, but I have downloaded some cias that said US region free, my 3ds is Eur and every time I reboot the 3ds the cias disappear or get wrapped again, I reinstalled those cia with eur region and it's all fine now

English isn't my born language BTW

its just a bad hex edit on the cia file
it does not matter the region but region free cia's (can) often have this problem because they were either edited poorly and or repacked improperly
    download one from another source/website

I only hope that one day people will stop suggesting this and then sending people on a road trip to spend-several-millenia-trying-to-fix-your-NNIDia.
Can't you just point them towards TinyFormat?
