i checked and its not corrupted

Ok thats a good start, what exactly happened in your case? Was it like OP and you opened it up from sleep mode to find everything gone, like the message you quoted where it happened after they were managing data, or something else?

If you press and hold select while powering on does it say booted from sd or nand?

Above is mentioned a tool called tickdevil, have you tried to restore tickets at all? If not try running faketik to restore tickets.

it was more like the person i replied to where i deleted a file taking up 0 blocks with a ? icon
also it says booted with sd
and i have not yet tried to restore tickets

Yeah, this sounds like SD Card corruption to me.

Maybe you just think it's not corrupted, but it actually is.

This was definitely what I thought but they said they checked I assumed this was done in thw proper way with h2testw.

How did you check this? Was it with h2testw?

im using a crappy chomebook
you may have to use linux to scan the drive, but I do not know the commands, so you'll have to google it. you did install linux, right? as far as a chromebook app, I do not know, so you may have to settle for this.

you could try running wine through linux on the chromebook. my parents have one by my recommendation, but I probably should've gotten them a netbook instead, but you can't really beat a $150 computer.

wait, i was able to get homebrew launcher open with rosalina, so i can open games via FBI
update: formatted the 3ds and am in the process of re-downloading all of the software that was on it and it works fine
