Hacking 3DS Banner Maker Confusion

Hey guys I've installed everything and I cant for the life of me figure this thing out.

All I want to do is change the name that is displayed on the Gateway Menu.

For example I converted the Pokemon Crystal GBC vc into a Metal Gear Solid GBC and on the menu it still says Pokemon Crystal. I look invane but everyone goes into detail about the banners and logos but nothing about changing this small text.

Please can anyone let me know what to do or point me in the right direction, thanks.

read the banner sub-section, im guessing you are either not changing the appdata.txt or the uniqueID

I've changed the Appdata.txt in python and the Unique Id in RSF. but thats as far as they explain. What do I do after that?

After doing both, the title still reads Pokemon Crystal on the 3ds.

well thats all you need to do, make sure you edit the title before running the final build script, every time you load a game it logs the icon and title, so if you forget to change the first time you will need to rebuild it again with another uniqueID

maybe im doing something wrong so ill explain what i'm doing.

im using the BOBMCJR VERSION method

I have one folder on my desktop called Bob version with
createrom.bat
ctrtool.exe
gw.rsf
makerom.exe
prepare.bat
pokemon crystal.3ds

I modify the unique id in gw.rsf using a .txt and then save

in the second folder on my desktop called 3ds banner with
_buildscript.py
AppData.txt
_build_ICNandBNR.bat
and some folders

I change the titles in appdata.txt and open_buildscript.py and save

Then I go to the first folder and drag pokemon crystal.3ds to prepare.bat
and drag the new rom to createrom.bat

What am I missing? it's driving me insane that I cant figure this out please help!

I see these examples everywhere but i must be missing something because im failing left and right. there arent any videos or anything on youtube to show me where im messing up.

I you already edited "AppData.txt" before running "_buildscript.py" and "gw.rsf" before running "createrom.bat" I cannot see what went wrong. :s

yes, now if I want to add my own pics to them do I have to do anything special? I tried and the image looks like snow on a tv.

- Use an image editor like Gimp.
- Open your picture in
- Trim it to get a picture with the right dimension (24x24, 48x48 and 256x128)
- Export it as PNG with the right name (icon.png and 256x128.png)
- Run the scripts (icon.py and banner.py)
- When you had finish with the three pictures, run _buildscript.py and you got banner.bnr and icon.icn

Don't forgot to change bnr and icn to bin
