I'm really curious if it's possible to make a 3D printed DS shell. A family member of mine has a resin 3D printer, which I've heard are much more precise than filament and I was curious if anyone knew where I could find a model to print, or if it would even work.
I've seen some custom cart shells on Etsy that look to be either resin printed or possibly machined but they don't ship to the UK for any remotely reasonable price.

Any help is appreciated, and thank you for reading :)
I am pretty sure it is possible, as like you said resin printers are ver accurate. I think the main problem you would face is getting the accurate 3-D model of the shells. I found a very good model, but as I created this account recently I can't send any links :( It's on a place called "GrabCad" though, and just search for "Game Card Nintendo DS". You will be able to download it as a .step file, and I was able to open it in Fusion 360. (You're able to get Fusion 360 for free if you choose the personal option. You won't be able to use it for commercial use, but I don't think from what you are saying that was your plan. I use the non-commercial use version so it works fine.) In Fusion 360, (I am very new so I don't really know anything) you are able to convert it into a file that a 3-d or resin printer can use. If you're planning to get it machined from a company you might be able to just send them the .step file but I don't really know. Hope any of that helps!

OK, I was able to get the model into an STL file which means the method works. I can't attach the file here (Unsupported) but I can now include the link. Hope this helps at all!
