Hacking 3 in 1 + Ez-Flash Vi + Lite

I got a 3 in 1 (regular not Plus), a Vi and a DS Lite last week. I have been playing GBA roms fine and haven't tried using the DS Browser yet, but the problem I have is that Rumble is not working. I read in a blog that regular 3 in 1 should not work with Vi but I have been playing GBA roms so I don't know what to believe. I want to know if that's true and I have to get a 3 in 1 Plus to use Rumble and the Ram or did the team say that both 3 in 1 are going to be working on the Vi at some point? (with kernel updates).
I know, I should have bought V Plus instead of VI, but the guy I bought it only had Vi and said that it worked well across all DS versions.

No it's not true. All ez 3in1 version works with the EZ5i.
Just do the firmware update v5 and all will be OK.
Also, only use last open beta kernel on it. Nowadays it's k1.90 OB9.
