Hacking 3.4

so i just downgraded from 3.3E to 3.2E and got starfall applied to block disk updates and also installed the recovery menu so I could perform the twilight hack should I ever get WAD bricked.

I shall stay on 3.2E. I'm hoping the updates are soon gonna be like the PSP, where every firmware release was hacked and a custom firmware released in it's place so that homebrew can continue.

Forsaekn is working on that... as soon as bootmii is released Fors is releasing his cSM(custom system menu)

The only sticky i saw on Wii Hacking was the fix for IF YOU UPDATED.. so can i just do the IOS patch thingy?

Yeah, I think you need to install IOS51 or the shop channel restarts the Wii when you try to load it.

OK, I'm confused after reading all of this...

I have my Wii at 3.2U with Cios v7 that came with the BackUploader Gamma package. I downloaded a scrubbed version of AC:CF that had the update removed. It runs fine in both the Gamma channel as well as the Rebooted Disc Channel.

However, I was going to buy the game (Partially due to long load times, and partially due to morals), and want to still be able to run it. What exactly will I need to do to run the original copy (preferably from the disk channel) without having to update to the homebrew killer IOS?

Also, does Waninkoko's cIOS v7 include a patched IOS38? If not, how is my game running fine?

Install starfall patches which skip updates from games.

Ah, I see. What problems would that update cause though? If I remember correctly, it removed Trucha capabilities... Is that correct? And is there a patched version of it? I just got a custom Guitar Hero and would like to be able to play it...

4. I can't install cIOS to run Backup Launcher. It something about 'install error' in 'installing title' as i can see on screen.

Is it possible to install cIOS and run Backup Launcher on my Wii? I just want to run games that i have download from piratebay.

Have a look at this thread; it might help you. It is for the 3.3v2 (Oct 23) update, but should enable you to install a cIOS on 3.4 as well. From there, you can use for example Waninkokos IOS Downgrader to reintroduce the signing bug.

What you're doing is called software piracy. Please don't do it.

cIOS doesn't work on 3.4 only on 3.3 and down i think also 3.3v2 patches the trucha-bug I think.

No you can't run the launcher(s) if you have 3.4 the update removes any cIOS(s) you have.

Stupid question maybe...ay if you get a wii and dont have internet connection then what do you do about updates just curious
