Talk about a heavy blow to the Wii Homebrew scene, trust me Nintendo have really done it this time and they mean business.
I think we need someone to create a dummy Wii firmware update based on the original which fools Nintendo's servers into thinking that the latest firmware installed. This dummy update would include everything that Nintendo has included in the original with modifications to use with homebrew.
Also, a patch would be released after every firmware update which would be installed via the HBC.
If someone can put this idea into action and get in touch with the creators of the HBC to allow automatic updates to use with my idea, then homebrew would be safe and nintendo would just give up completely.
Trust me, we need to play Nintendo at their own game and win the war against homebrew which will never end unless this gets resolved. Personally, I think Nintendo are taking the mickey by taking a page from Microsoft's book related to automatic updates for 3.4 and future updates which is not cool!
