Hi,

I recently installed a Wiikey for a co-worker (4th Wii installation so far) and It work good ... with Wii (burnt or not) game only...

Actualy, after my install, I didn't try any GC (burnt) game and just closed everything.

I returned the Wii to him...and he tryed playing GC game (about 5) and none were working..

He said he used Verbatim (unknow dye...) DVD+R and one Princo (ok..this was probably why this game didn't work) DVD-R

Here are the result :

He put Mario Party 6 in...
The 2 disc spin..... spin......go up...
the Wii think it's not a valid game disc..

I told him to try with other brand DVD and other speed and I'll let you know tomorow.

He will also try the Wiikey setup disc... (if this work.. thand it's probably bad dump or something)

Anyway

if you have any advice or seen something similar thanks for any info

Since they are Verbatim disks, they are likely not the issue.

Tell him to burn at 2.4x, and if that doesn't work, try another burner.

Some burners just do a very bad job!

...as I stated some time ago...

Verbatim != quality... some are good.. some are not..

Singapore made are good..
Japan made are good...
China made are soso....

That's why I wrote unknow dye..

anyway We'll see

I did a wiikey for my friend, but he didnt use the 1.2 setup disk and he couldnt get any GC backups to work, as soon as he used the 1.2 setup disk and put region override on, and exited, hes been able to play both backup and original GC games on his PAL wii, both NTSC and PAL.

Same for me, not found one which doesnt work yet and alot of my GC originals were NTSC and my wii is PAL.
