Yeah, you're right about the Pokewalker, I got confused in the HUGE ammount of Pokemon crap that's out.

Pocket Pikachu and Pikachu 2 are already in the list, just under "Pokemon Pikachu" and "Pokemon Pikachu 2", I thought everyone will pick that up as the handheld.

And... GBA movies? Movies implies that they're not games, don't you think?

i never know that there was a pokemon green

Yeah, it was only released in Japan. That's why one of the gba remakes of the Kanto region was called Pokemon LeafGreen.
so only pkm blue, red and yellow came out in europe?

Not exactly, Pokémon Green was released in europe, it was just renamed (and on the GBC recolored) to Pokémon Blue.

Yes, and only Red, Green and Yellow were released in Japan.

I don't see Pokemon ending any time soon, it's still fun and addicting, and it gets a ton of sales. I doubt they're going to stop soon.

Unfortunately, as long as people keep buying the stuff, they will keep pumping out crap.

What they should do is make a game for the 3DS (That will get more people to upgrade from the DS too) that has every region in one game, and you have go through all the regions to complete the game. Then add some type of mode that is like an MMO. Maybe each "World" or "Server" could hold up to like 32 people so it's not crowded as hell, then you can just play Pokemon, as you would alone, but with up to 32 other people at a time.

Pokewalker came with HG/SS

Also, thought you might as well put in Pocket Pikachu and Pocket Pikachu 2 GS.

An afterthought, the first stadium(US) =/= stadium (J).
The first stadium did not have all 151 pokemon.

I think there were 4 gba video carts as well.
Yes it did.

Why doesn't GameFreak/Creatures Inc. go back to their roots? Back when they were APE...

You know what I am getting at.

(I KNOW, they aren't all the same people but still).

Pokemon is the 'mega man' of Nintendo RPGs. It'll just keep getting recycled time and again with no end in sight, and when it starts to look stale they'll make some weird spinoff like megaman got too. There is no death to pokemon, kids will always want to collect, compete and play with their friends (and adults too.)

At least in some ways the megaman teams mixed it up a tiny bit (never thought I would be using that argument for a megaman game)- aside from themed games (a fair few it seems and I am lumping the "stadium" franchise in there as well) or a handful of indulgences (thinking mystery dungeon although that probably counts as a theme game as mystery dungeon/Fushigi no Dungeon is a fairly established franchise) I hold pokemon to be more or less the same game as the first so to this end I am going to say "end?- I am more interested to see if they will ever start". I guess the fate of things was sealed with the second generation as it were- tech and time limits might have caused the somewhat reduced functionality for the first go around but to have them remain after that and to this day..... even final fantasy makes a small effort to mix things up a bit each time.

Never because it has a lot of playable content. Maybe Game Freak can fuck it with the polygons. I wish not.

This is actually really accurate to what I think.

I mean, Pokemon hasn't changed much over the years but I remember way back when it being THE portable game. I bought my GBC and my GBA purely for Pokemon. Nowadays it's still the same basic game but it's still a lot of content and THE portable RPG. Maybe they're lazy with their game design but I feel any "reboot" of the series or drastic departure from it will ruin it completely. The shitty spin-offs are one thing, but the main series can still be pretty fun.

And they definitely shouldn't "fuck it with the polygons", as Juan said. It works well because you can battle pretty quickly and it's pretty fast paced. The 3D models used in Stadium, Colosseum, XD, whatever, all make the games so slow and take away a lot of the charm. Stick to the 2D sprites.

Please, do "fuck" with polygons. It'd be ABOUT DARN TIME.

I can't see how 3D will make the game slow-paced. That is, if you can call a turn-based game "fast-paced" in the first place.

I meant "fast paced" as you can finish battles in like under a minute easily and the game has very little focus on making you sit through story progression. You're usually just grinding or fighting trainers or whatever, not worrying about story.

The 3D just makes the game slow. They spend all this time on stupid animations for each attack and stuff like that. Having played the console Pokemon games like Stadium and Colosseum, I can definitely see a difference.

Plus I never thought the sprites really looked bad.

It's not that they look "bad". It's just that a well-developed 3D engine could only do good to the old, greasy, cold, re-heated hamburger that is Pokemon.

I'd much rather see a well-made 3D Pokemon game than another generation of those friggin' monsters - 151 was enough.

If you haven't noticed, you're playing THE SAME OLD GAME over and over again, periodically getting a slight facelift or new Pokemon.

Geenlung's right, in fact I'm pretty sure that's the main reason they made Pokemon Stadium 2 (Called Pokemon Stadium everywhere else but Japan).

Putting the models in 3D won't change the battle system or stop the addition of new Pokemon. It's just giving an old car a new coat of paint.

And I realize what my Pokemon games are but I don't have a problem with it. People seem to hate it because they can, but you still can't deny the large amount of content every game delivers and that they didn't fuck with the formula. It's not like it was a bad formula that they just kept rehashing, it was a good formula that they just kept using. It doesn't feel dated and it's still an addictive RPG game.

It would've helped if you pointed out that you weren't talking about "the first stadium" that you were referring to in the previous line of your post.
