Sorry to revive an old thread but didn't wanted to create a new one for this question, well my m3 gba expansion pack worked until about a week or so.

The thing is that I started playing a game and its save was erased, when I tried another one all were deleted too, so I insertede the card in the PC for see what was happening but the save files were there, so is there a problem? why are the saves there if they don't work?

I started a new game but this time the game says "cannot access to the writing memory". Please help.

There could be several reason that the GBA isn't saving properly.

1) Try charging the Gba Expansion plug it in your nds leave it charging.
2) After you exit from a saved GBA game you have to turn your Nds back on and go back to the GBA menu to transfer the saved from the Sdram to the main save.

So basically after saving my game to play a NDS game I have to play a GBA game to wright the save to the card, and then I can remove the M3 GBA Expansion, and if I don't do this the save stays as temporary?

Sorry if this is much, I'm using m3 sakura, and now I can save the game but after playin another game (A NDS game) the save erases. Thanks for your help.

The method that works for me when dealing with gba saves in Sakura is the following: Play a gba game, save however you save in the game. Turn off ds.
If I then plan to remove the expansion, or use the card in a dsi/ds without the expansion in it, I start the ds up (with the expansion in it), and load a ds game to ensure Sakura will not be attempting to copy the sram from the expansion any more. I then turn off the ds, remove the expansion, or switch to my dsi.

I'm not sure if this process is necessary, but it works. If you do this, and it still is not working, your expansion either needs charging, or is messed up.

Well, I tried it and is working well (for now) thanks, the process is a little long but if it don't erase my saves I'll do it everytime.

Just wondering, are the RT-Saves directly written to the MicroSD? Or are they also stored in the expansion, and one also have to let Sakura copying the files over?

rts is not copied in the microsd directly you have to restart sakura

Yep, you've got it right. From how we originally understood the bug, this is the 'correct' way to avoid the effects of the bug.

i ve got touchpod and sakura system menus, lite ds, m3 ds real flashcard and expansion pack.
when i try to run sonic advance (because i love the chao garden) when i go to tiny chao garden and when i try to exit it, it freezes.
and when i turn off and on the ds and load the game again it hasn't saved. (a new chao garden

Shouldn't 'Sdram' be 'Sram'?
(sorry for reviving this, but I really like to know

Yep, because most likely Shadow RAM is meant.
