Gaming 2-in-1 games with cart + download code

Noob question, sorry.
I bought a used Assassin's Creed The Rebel Collection for the Switch. The game cart comes with one game, and there is a download code for the other game.
The thing is, I bought it used, and the guy said he has not used the code. Is there a way to test if the code has been used, without actually using it? I don't intend to play the downloadable game, and just sell the whole thing again once I'm done playing the cart game.

You might be able to enter it and not redeem it at that time (it might need a confirmation... not sure. I only did it once with my P5S copy).

Kinda sad that these codes kinda serve as "used game" control....

Just bought a FFX copy without code... man...

Can't even "unredeem" the code. Meh.

Thanks. I just need to know if I will really be asked to confirm the redeeming of the code, or if it won't ask me any questions and just link the game to my account, which I really don't want. I know the PS4 does ask you the question, but I'm not sure about the Switch.

I guess I should have looked it up on Youtube first... Looks like you do have to confirm the redemption of the code, so it's all good. I can check if my code is still usable.
