Gaming 2 beeps and wont boot

hi hope you can help !

dell dimension 3100 , boots so far then black screens and 2 beeps ! ive tried clearing cmos with the jumper , im assuming i did because i had to set the date/time in the bios again !

im stumped so im open to suggestions

If it is the same on all motherboards 2 beeps means hardware failure which will not allow the computer to boot. That's the best I can tell you.

just noticed in the bios event log im showing

cmos checksum error !

now i have swapped out the battery and the ram !

and still 2 beeps and showing cmos checksum error ?

One of our school computers had this very same problem.

but i dunno how we fixed it

Make sure all your hardware is seated firmly in the slots, and make sure all cables are tight. Also make sure the heat sink is secure.

- try reseating the memory, if the error still occurs, replace the memory

Could be faulty RAM?

This is RAM for sure, same thing happened to me once, luckily i was able to fix it wtih a dust clean out, and placing the RAM firmly in the slots, but for sure you have a RAM problem. Get that checked out.

cheers guys problem solved ! basically i unplugged everything cleared cmos and started again , and booted up with different ram
