then if someone fix it and u still cant downgrade.... what is the point someone with experience and wisdom fix it?
You need more than wisdom and experience to find an arm9 kernel exploit (what would be required for downgrading). You need Nintendo to make a mistake.

We haven't found an arm9 exploit that can be used without external hardware or without existing CFW for a few years now.

yeah i know but i mean than if someone fix it and u cant use it for downgrade bc u still need that arm9 kernel exploit then fix it its a waste of time?

well i think than i should try hardmod but i am reading info about more than a year ago for another old 3ds than i has since past (that was full dead) and i still having some question about hardmod and anyone in my country do it to strangers how a shop or something.

I'm actually glad I followed that guide last weekend after getting Sky3DS+ so I could use Cubic Ninja.
Now if I understand it correctly, updating would not be a problem as it all comes from my SD now and I just need to change the firmware number of a file on my SD to make Homebrew Launcher work again?

This won't happen for 11.0 due to new security being added to the kernel (XOR canaries, and validation MACs for the memchunks)
Even with an arm11 kernel exploit (like svchax) it still won't be possible to downgrade from 11.0 (see: process9 enforcing a minimum version number). That being said, svchax wasn't patched, just broken, and it is possible to fix.
???
It doesn't matter anyway. If I actually manage to bypass the min version check, I'll release it when the next kexploit is out.
Don't count on it, though.

People should be looking for dsiware game exploits, straight up. You have full access to raw NAND and, with that, you can currently downgrade with software only.

And at the same time we can use such exploit to open the SD while in DS mode can't we? So we can finally play custom DSiWare

I saw the NAND TWL backup/restore tool that you posted a while ago. I had thought that maybe you could use that to downgrade NFIRM and given your comment just now I'd assume that's correct?

Yeah, but you need an exploitable dsiware game. Right now, they do exist, but they're not primary.
If some games had QR codes ... or sketchy wifi AP access and were free ... I dunno. Worth looking into.

Speaking out of my ass here because I have very little experience with TWL stuff, but could you use a flash cart?

DS mode locks out the SD card. There's been talk (Martin Korth) that System Flaw has SD access for some reason ... but its save is only 512 bytes. It's easy enough to crash with string overflows, but not much room to work with.

We should get cyclodsi back in production.
